Broadcrown acoustic canopies are designed to
operate in harsh out-door environments. The materials and processes
involved in their construction reflect the need for durability and
strength.
Large gullwing or side opening doors give easy and complete access to
maintenance points. Gullwing doors are fitted with two industrial gas
spring struts to assist closing, opening and parking of the doors. The
struts are guaranteed for 50000 operations and for use in temperatures up
to 110 C. Heavy duty locks and epoxy powder coated "slam-bolt"
latches are used throughout to avoid unauthorized access. A lockable door
with transparent panel gives access to the control panel and circuit
breaker.

The canopy has IP53 ingress protection and
the internally mounted control panel has a further IPX54 ingress
protection. An externally mounted emergency stop switch is supplied as
standard to allow shutdown of the genset in emergencies.

Acoustic performance is achieved by
efficient management of cooling and combustion air, mill finish aluminum
alloy louvres (with internal bird mesh) are used on larger canopies to aid
inlet air noise attenuation. Anti-vibration mounts are used to isolate the
engine and alternator from the base frame and polyurethane foam based
panels damp and absorb air-born engine and alternator generated noise.
Internally mounted, high performance silencer, with weather caps, ensure
that exhaust gas noise is minimized.

Heavy duty base frames with integral
pressure tested fuel tanks are manufactured from cold rolled sheet steel in
thickness' up to 6mm. Canopy components are manufactured in 2mm cold rolled
sheet steel

All components are pre-treated with Iron
phosphate to provide the best possible substrate finish for the polyester
powder coating. A baked powder coating thickness of 80 microns gives a
highly corrosion resistant and scratch resistant finish.

Canopy components are finished in high gloss
white (RAL9001), base assemblies are finished in black (RAL9005), all
fasteners used in the assembly of the canopy are Zinc plated, clear
passivated.

For ease of installation and handling, all
canopy baseframes have 4 lifting points and forklift pockets. An optional
center point lift with single lifting eye is also available.
