Production of the Panel -
The Broadcrown range of
control systems consist of five main units; Keystart, Autostart 705,
Autostart 730, Synchronizing Units and a range of Automatic Transfer
Systems. All units are manufactured using a lockable powder coated steel
fabricated box offering protection to IP54 and IP65 for Automatic Transfer
Systems.
All panels comply with the Low Voltage Directive and EMC regulations.
As a standard all units offer control instruments for temperature, oil
pressure, charge rates, voltmeter with a seven position selector switch,
frequency meter, ammeter with a four position selector switch, hours run
meter and a twist release emergency stop. (The Autostart 730 has no gauges
or switches but utilizes a Liquid Crystal Display).
All units offer shutdown as standard for High Engine Temperature and Low
Oil pressure and also include a warning for charge fail.
The Keystart 9700 unit and the Autostart 705 are pin compatible allowing
the use of a standard control panel and loom. This permits easy upgrades in
the field from a manual to a fully automatic control system.
The Broadcrown Automatic synchronizing panel can be used to synchronize or
parallel any diesel generator from 22KVA to 585KVA. the panel is set
mounted, monitors and controls all functions and parameters associated with
paralleling multiple sets, synchronizing to a mains supply and load
sharing.
Manual and semi automatic panels are also available.

- Internal Panel - Then panel is constructed using
1.5mm mild steel and finished using powder paint to RAL 9001 which is
baked to over 200C to ensure a quality finish. Prior to painting the steel
undergoes a four process wash for iron phosphate degreasing, clean water
rinse, seal additive and dry off which ensures resistance against rust and
increases paint adhesion.
The panel is produced only by approved personnel who have undergone
extensive training. The pre-formed loom utilizes thin wall DC wiring
reducing the size of the loom and allowing for increased flexibility and
improved accessibility for maintenance. Where possible the loom is located
in ducting providing increased durability and ease of access to DIN Rail
mounted accessories.
The loom incorporates multi - way push on connectors with many options
included in the loom as standard allowing for ease of retrofit once
delivered to the customer. The panel is mounted independently from the
engine and the alternator thus reducing vibration and increasing
durability. because Broadcrown uses similar panels across all power bands
it enables the customer to easily upgrade the units, particularly as the
engine loom to panel loom connection is via a single multiplug connector
which does not allow for incorrect connection.
