At all other times, the more invisible their power is, the better. Hess Microgen units are small enough that they could be located in the basement and quiet enough that residents do not notice their operation. Importantly, they power over 60% of each facility's electricity and provide a significant portion of the hot water needs, resulting in savings of 30% over previous utility costs.
