These questions are in relation to a study being performed to evaluate the
use of propylene glycol based coolants in military marine applications.
1) Does Sta-Clean coolant (propylene glycol) meet the requirements of ASTM
D6211, ASTM D4985 and or CID A-A-52624? If so, what methods are used to ensure
that the product purchased by the end user consistently complies with the
requirements of these specs?
2) In what quantities and concentrations is Sta-Clean antifreeze available?
3) Does Sta-Clean antifreeze additive meet the requirements of ASTM D5257?
4) Is Sta-Clean antifreeze and additive compatible with other propylene
glycol based coolants?
5) Can more general information be provided about the test strips (i.e.
packaging, test method, shelf life, etc.)? Do the test strips indicate the
effectiveness of the antifreeze corrosion inhibiting properties?
6) Are these products available at the nationwide retailer level (i.e.
Wal-Mart, AutoZone, NAPA, Etc.)?
